Hi and happy Tuesday Night! I'm at my friend Stacie's house. This sweet collage is for sale on her site! It's even sweeter in person! Tomorrow morning we leave for Port Orchard, Washington where we will be attending one of the coolest art events of the year...ARTFEST! This will be so fun for me, as I'm not teaching but taking two workshops from some incredible artists. I'll be taking a two day workshop from artist Keith Lo Bue and Saturday will be taking another from artist Susan Lenart Kasmer. This will be my first time to take classes from both of these artists and I'm giddy....I'm not sure why, but I've tended to take jewelry classes lately....and not your everyday jewelry at that...did you see the teeth on the keith lo bue sample? :)
Stacie is taking a Sally Jean class....I spent a day with sally a week or two ago and actually saw one of her tiaras. I told stacie that she was free to make one for me after she learns the tricks of the trade. :) It was so fun getting here today and giving Stacie the little shrine I made her at Art & Soul. She in turn, had made ME one!! It's so sweet...it's not a necklace, but has little feet so it stands...she soldered a hook that goes up and over on the top and dangles a little heart charm...it's SO CUTE! I'll take a picture of it and post it once I get home from Artfest next week....(I'll be away from home until wednesday of next week...much to Kimber's dismay).
I sent an email out to my website email list announcing a BIG SALE I started today on my website...(I haven't even posted this on my website, as it was a last minute thing....)
At this moment until midnight Sunday night, everything for sale on my website (except for Art 4 a Cure decks) is 35% off! I goofed in the email by first saying the discount was for 35% off but then gave the payment option of paypal and accidentally said that when you're beginning checkout, you can complete it and pay regular price on paypal and I will be refunding the percentage once I return home next week....or you can NOT complete checkout, get the item total (not including shipping), deduct the percentage, and then go into your paypal account and send money to me at firstname.lastname@example.org at the discounted rate. In the email I said at this point that the discount was 25%....when in the beginning, I'd already said it was 35%....it IS 35%....I just goofed and didn't catch the mistake. Sorry about that.....
This is the first time (in over two years) I've offered a complete website sale....so now's your chance to get charms, collage sheets, transparencies and the 1st artist playing card deck at a huge discount! I'm doing this in honor of Artfest! I will be responding to all orders as soon as I return home next week.
For those of you waiting on the Art 4 a Cure deck, there are some exciting things in the works with that deck. As many of you know, the projected date for that deck to be delivered to me from the manufacturer was October of last year....I'm very sorry to say that there has been some major delays with that and after much thought, I've decided to announce a solid delivery date of October of THIS year for delivery. I understand that October 2005 would be exactly 1 year delayed from the original delivery date and I give you all my sincerest apologies...unfortunately, the delays were something I couldn't have predicted. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it is certain that everyone who has preordered and will preorder will receive their decks by the beginning of October. I'm hoping that in the next month or two, I will update the website to show the exact amount of donations that have been generated ($5 from every deck sold will be donated to a breast cancer awareness/research organization). This is such an exciting project. Since there have been so many delays, it feels to me that it's been a back burner project. On my way to seattle today, my hubby and I discussed it and I've committed to renewing my passion for this cause and will be organizing the Art 4 a Cure Traveling Art Exhibit shortly. (after I catch up on my chunky color books, of course!!)
Last week was my 41st bday....I'm getting so old. The official day was very crappy and if it wasn't for my mom and dad mailing a present a week before and my sister and her family sending a card, I would have been screwed...(pardon the vulgarity)...actually, I'm just griping.... my oldest daughter made me some chocolate chip cookies and my youngest made me a sweet collage and one of her monster dolls earlier in the month....but THE day.....?? The cool thing is, the next day we left at 4am for San Francisco....hubby had won an all expense paid trip....we spent a day and night in napa valley and on Thursday, the entire day in San Francisco and a night at the 4 Seasons Hotel...it was incredible. I had a few days home to catch up on some website orders and pack for Artfest....and I was OFF again....I think once I get back next week, I won't be doing more traveling until June...which is when I'll be teaching at Artfest Fiber and will be the teacher at a retreat in Turlock California at Altered Asylum where Kris, the wonderful owner of the bed & breakfast/artist retreat center, is waiting for samples from me...arrgghh....I've been getting some fun emails from people who have signed up for my classes at both events...I'm sure there are spots open at artfest fiber (the event is held at a convent!!)....I'm not sure about altered asylum....one girl emailed me saying she was told they were full, but I think they actually might have some class spaces....if not rooming space...if you think you might want to join us...email kris!
Okay, I guess that's enough blabbing for one night...I had to make this one count, as it's been ages since I've posted and will be another week or so before I can journal here again....love and blessings to everyone who reads this....I'll check back in as soon as I can. oxox
