Isn't this the sweetest bird? It was sent to me as a gift by an artist who took a weekend workshop from me last June at the Altered Asylum.
Kris Henderson runs it, a wonderful creative retreat. If you haven't attended, you should. I just loved teaching there and adored my students.
I had a very peaceful weekend. My daughters were at their dad's house the entire time and hubby worked all weekend, so I spent the time working on my studio. I've really been trying to streamline my workspace, clear out the clutter (which is one of my middle names), and create a place that has a feeling of creative energy....would be nice to have a place where you couldn't help but create when you walked into it.
In the process, the place is really a wreck. I've moved stuff from my studio to my dining room, pretty chaotic. I'll post some photos of the progress if you're interested. Here's a peek at the one thing that DID get completed in the studio....I bought a tall bookcase at a garage sale this summer and finally got it moved in. This is a photo of the display I created on top of it. I added some artwork from some of my favorite artists. Lynn Whipple, Norma Kooi, Maria Lamb and Erica Tysse.
I see Susan today (my therapist). Last week she had me complete one task, which I did....I've committed to two tasks for this week and even just typing this I can feel my chest tightening. I'm going to mail out the playing card decks and finish taking care of the last of my website customers. Wish me luck. oxox
