I'm such a sucker for valentine's day. I can remember myself in Jr. High baking heart shaped sugar cookies with red sprinkles, carefully wrapping each one in saran wrap and tying them with little red bows. I'd carry a box filled with cookie hearts to school and have a ball passing them out to my friends...(actually, in Jr. High, everyone's friends with the person holding the cookies). It's a tradition I continued with for years, eventually trading the individually wrapped cookies for a big valentine jar filled with cookies to give to some boy I was dating at the time.
My bear charms took me forever to complete. I don't know why I always do that to myself...so, as they would be a week past due, I decided to do something special for the hostess. I shopped for the perfect candy box, ate the candy inside then filled it up with pink & white candy cups, placing each bear charm inside. I've got them all packaged up with some added surprises so they're ready for a speedy delivery in the morning. YAY!
My time with my sweet friend was extended last weekend. We'd originally decided to meet up on Sat. morning of the 27th and leave for home the following Monday. (she lives in one direction, I live in the other....both of us about 2 hrs away). We decided we would extend our visit and stayed an extra night, which got me home late Tuesday night...(it always takes me at least a day or two to get back into the swing of things here, so last week has felt like a time warp). My friend is so special. We've been close for so long and have spent so many weekends hunkered down in a hotel room after long days of shopping, pulling out our treasures from the day....laughing, catching up. Stace has shared in her journal that she's in the midst of some growing pains...life, discovering who she is, what she needs. I am so impressed by the strength I see in her, she's stronger than I've ever seen her before. I am just so proud. We decided to prolong the visit, spending the entire monday in jammies in our room, watching tv, (me finishing bears), crying, laughing and just appreciating our friendship. She's such a wonderful gift. *love ya stace!*
