Live and Learn

I've been having major regrets about signing a 2 year contract with my rubberstamp manufacturer.  I KNOW this is a live and learn thing and hopefully I have learned.  I've decided that I will not be creating more designs for this company and will just wait out the contract before moving forward with someone different.  If you're an artist and are new to contracts, etc...go to another artist....someone who has been there...(hubbies don't count on this one).  When I was approached about designing for this company, there were many vocal agreements....vocal agreements that weren't included in the contract...(she was nice, how was I to know it needed to be in the contract...see, I'm very naive).  In the three months of the first quarter, she's sold almost 800 stamps from my collection, many of the sales resulted from people contacting them via my website.  I should be happy about that...but I'm not.  blah!  oxox

Thank you, Tracy, for sharing your live-and-learn moments with us. It really is giving and generous of you! I actually have been researching having my own art stamps made...in this case, no contract, just a case of manfacturing. It's been a huge learning curve I've been clamoring my way up, but it's always interesting to hear what the pros who've been there have to say. So, thank you!!

Those 'live and learn' lessons are the worst to swallow, aren't they? In any event, that little girl is the sweetest thing! I especially love the collage version.
