Studio Friday ~ All Things Round

It's Friday!  What a coincidence to find out that this week's Studio Friday theme is "All things Round" since I've spent hours sorting my buttons today.  Here are some of my favorites, vintage, hand carved, mother of pearl buttons.  What you're not seeing that I've also sorted into their own little groups, buttons covered in fabric, metal buttons, abalone shell buttons, plastic, big coat buttons, wood, bone, bakelite, military, victorian picture buttons, victorian filigree buttons, leather, novelty, and of course, mother of pearl.  There are three different groups of MOP buttons, the ones like these that are carved, ones that have metal shanks and those that have no holes, just a place in the back to thread your needle through...hundreds and hundreds of buttons today....not all round, but mostly.  oxox

beautiful tray, and white buttons are the best, specially mother pearl, I love those too. Got a little pile thrifting this weekend. Was going to buy a desk, came home with more fabric and some buttons!

O I do Love buttons too! Can you tell me what MOP buttons are, please? Have seen that term but don't know what it means... Lovely pic. : )
