Happy Sunday, I hope everyone's enjoying their weekend. I've been artistic this weekend, and still cleaning my studio. My daughter had a bday party to go to yesterday so I made Moriah a sterling bracelet with matching earrings. I didn't have time to scan them, so instead, I'm sharing a collage given to me a while back from my girlfriend, Stacie Rife.
I've noticed since my posting absence that the whole "tag" thing has hit it big. I don't remember it before my hermitsville away time. I got an email last night that Stacie had tagged me....here it is.
Name five women who have Inspired me...
1. Mom - My mom has always been a huge source of inspiration for me. We're so different but love many of the same things. I get my artistic/creative talents from her. She is a woman who is a survivor. She is always someone who keeps her attitudes and thoughts on the bright side and is giving, loving and wonderful.
2. Tanya Kimmer - My sweet Tanya and I have been friends for almost 12 years. We've seen so many seasons of life together, raised our babies into middleschoolers, learned the fine art of garage sales and thrift shopping and have grown to love and adore one another no matter what. I've told her this before, and it's true. If there was one person put on this earth that I would say actually LOVES me the way I know God does, it's Tanya. Because of her, I've learned what friendship really means.
3. Tina Marie Teykl Parish - My post college roomate and life long friend. She has inspired me as a woman who is in constant search for her own truth. She is a talented singer, a dedicated wife and mother, a loving daughter and sister and more importantly, someone who I will love a lifetime. (My oldest daughter was named after her....middle names, that is). She shows me that it's okay to be in process, to continually grow, change and get better every day.
4. Mary Engelbreit - From the beginnings of seeing her work as a teenager, she has inspired me and my desire to be an artist. Although I adore her artwork, what I love most about her is how she decorates her house....I've always loved teensy things, homey collectibles. One of her decorating books was the first time I saw an incense house. I've collected them ever since.
5. Lynn Whipple - Finally, Lynn Whipple is my hero. She was the first artist I ever saw who used vintage photos in her artwork. Her style is so whimsical and fun. I'll never forget when I was fortunate enough to take a class from her at Artfest 2004. She is sweet, gracious and adorable. I love her.
I'm now going to tag these people.....Paula, Joleen, ihanna, heather, deirdre, and amy!
