Friday in Hawaii

It's friday, just after 1:30pm.  I've spent all morning in my room and it's been good....writing postcards, organizing all my newly bought crap and souvenirs, gathering up dirty laundry to give to the room service guy, etc.  I have a fancy massage scheduled in 30 minutes.  Kem is golfing and tonight we'll meet up with another couple for drinks, then off to "Friday Night is Art Night" in downtown Lahaina (which is about 5 minutes from our hotel). 

I just spoke to my sweet friend, Natalie Hansen who was in Maui a couple of weeks ago.  She's going to be coming to stay with me for Art & Soul in October, along with two other friends...it's going to be an art party...I'm so excited!

Yesterday was a total ball....tho it would have been more fun if my mom or girlfriend(s) were with me.  I dropped kem off for golf early and spent the day exploring.  I found an awesome open air market where a lady in her 70's makes beaded jewelry using vintage beads....she told me where to find a thrift store and also directions to the big flea market on Sat. morning.  YAY!  It was a long day but so fun, I found a quilting store, a bead shop, went to Walmart, picked up hubby and went to an awesome restaurant for dinner.  We were both SO ready to get back to the room where we collapsed in bed in front of the tv. 

I've taken no pics today but will take a picture of my thrift store haul soon. :)  smooches, tracy

Oh I love Maui!!! If you are in Paia, eat at Paia fish market. It is a small town so its easy to find. It is on the corner of Baldwin and ? which is the big intersection in town. Last time in Maui we ate there 3 times!!! The best fish tacos!! The town above Paia, Makawow ( i did NOT spell that right, but that is how you say it) has a LOT of GREAT art... I believe the only glass blowing on the island.. great little shops etc, but small enough to not take the whole day. Have Fun....

Sounds like you are having a fabulous time...and the weather here is wet and gloomy, so you aren't missing much. Supposed to be up to 70 next week, though...
