I thought I'd surprise myself and sit down and share in my journal again...two days in a row...woohoo.
I've had so much fun lately at the Japanese Grocery store...actually, the bookstore that's inside the grocery store.
They have the most awesome craft books....yes, they're all written in Japanese BUT they have step by step illustrations which makes it a breeze.
My favorite two books are little dog books.
Here's the cover of one...The cover picture is of "Bob: Boston Terrier...I'm pleasant"... this part is written in english as are the names of all the dogs here. Included in this book are patterns for these tiny dogs...a chihuahua, a pomeranian, a black lab (named love...isn't that cute?), a beagle, a bull terrier, a westie!, a corgie, two different mini doxies, a "mix" :), a papillon, 3 jack russell terriers, a wire-haired fox terrier, a pug, a shih tzu, mini schnauzer, 5 tiny puppies that are all different. These are all on one book! I think I love them most because they're so small....here's how small... they fit in a spoon!!
Okay, so I haven't made any yet, but I'm going to! I'm actually going to make copies of the patterns and then sell this and the rest of the books on ebay....yeah, that's cheating, I know. :) Want to see more pics from this book? Here's the corgi, chihuahua and bull terrier...just adorable.
One book that I bought and actually sent off to my friend, Tyn, is the cutest felting book. I've not learned the art of felting but received the sweetest blue bird that she made for me after taking a class from me last summer.
The bookstore has so many incredible felted animal books...I decided on the one for tyn because it had the cutest hedge hog and red & white polka dot mushroom on the cover....here are some pics from that book that I scanned before mailing it off... you can click them to make them bigger. I just found one for sale on ebay if you want a better look at Tyn's giftie...
every one of these books are filled with so many different things to make. This one even had little cell phone charms with the tiniest of mushrooms and hedgehogs, etc.
Okay, maybe I should list some on ebay now....
I'll post a link once I do! oxox
